It is obvious that in this day and time, we need to be educated as a whole about politics and organizations going on around us. The world is changing daily with new trends, organizations, and political standpoints. The saying is true, the older you get the wiser you get and this is true with politics. Over time you learn more and more about yourself and what you believe. With things changing so fast, we younger folks need a little guidance along the way and this is where social media comes into play. Social media is the best tool that we have to communicate and educate. You can find almost anything on social media, which is helpful in politics.  With a little help from social media, we can work every day to be better for ourselves and those around us.      Gen-Z for Change is a nonprofit organization that uses "the power of social media to educate our generation, encourage and mobilize civic participation, shift the political debate, and enact change."...

Social Media

Through the election season, our social media accounts are flooded with campaigning information. New accounts are being created left and right for these potential candidates so that they can voice their campaigns to the world. In some cases, you will see that people may solely vote on the fact that they saw a certain candidate's campaign in a large number of places and they seemed trustworthy while not taking the time to look into factional reasoning on who they decide to give their votes to.  This is where social media comes into play and is very convenient for potential candidates. Political Pundits

Image
Before this assignment, I really didn't know what a political pundit was, or even a pundit for that matter. After doing a little research I realized that you see political pundits every day in all forms of media. A pundit is someone who offers news to the mass media and is someone who covers a specific area most of the time on political topics.      For this topic, I chose Whoopi Goldberg , whose original name was Caryn Elaine Johnson. When I finally sat down and started to think about how I wanted to go about this paper, Whoopi was the first person to come to my head after reading more about pundits. Whoopi is a comedian, actor, and talk show host. She has been a talk show host on The View since 2007. The View is a talk show that holds several generations of women and their opinions that has been airing since 1997. They are currently on their 26th season of being aired on ABC. The reason I chose Whoopi is simply because my grandma and I watched The ...
